Chocolaty Piccante Smoothie
Sometimes you just need some chocolate. And then sometimes, the chocolate you eat isn’t enough and you want even more chocolate.
This happened to me the other day and as guilty as I felt about my unabashed ridiculous chocolate consumption, I just kept eating it.
On about my fifth round of chocolate eating, I decided to make a chocolate smoothie but heat it up with a bit of chili and cayenne pepper. The benefits of hot pepper are countless but here are a few (just in case you were wondering):
Nutritional benefits of chili pepper:
Boots metabolism
Boosts immunity
Anti-inflammatory
Helps prevent type 2 diabetes
Natural pain relief
Cardiovascular benefits
Clears congestion (naturally)
Being that I was filling my body with so much chocolate and (natural) sugar, I wanted to counteract it with some spice. I also added a bit of nutrient-rich superfood (like Chia!)
The result was a great chocolaty spicy smoothie.
