Chocolate Banana Walnut Doughnuts (w/chocolate sauce)

Sometimes you need a little chocolate- and sometimes you need A LOT of chocolate.

Here’s A LOT of chocolate. 🤗

These #glutenfree #vegan #refinedsugarfree doughnuts were made with:

2 ripe bananas

1/4 cup melted coconut oil

1/4 cup maple syrup

1/4 cup coconut sugar

1 flax egg (1 tbsp ground flax seeds with 2.5 tbsp water)

Seeds from 1 vanilla bean

1 1/2 cups oat flour

1/2 cup almond meal. I use the leftover pulp from almond milk)

1/2 cup raw cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp Himalayan salt

1/4 cup chocolate chips

1/4 cup carob chips

3/4 cups chopped walnuts

Instructions:

Heat oven to 180C and spray doughnut pan with coconut oil. Mix the wet ingredients together. Mix the dry ingredients (leaving the chocolate chips, carob and walnut for last. Mix the wet into the dry. Once it becomes a homogenous mixture, stir in the chips and walnuts.

Bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Let cool and serve with chocolate sauce (made simply by stirring together 1/4 cup cacao powder, 1/4 cup coconut oil and 1/4 cup maple syrup over low heat in a small saucepan.
